“The” problem is described by ponerology. Ponerology is the study of psychopathy in group, corporate, and institutional settings.
The very short thumbnail description is that history is written by the victors. But this does not restart thinking as well as a deeper view of this, which is that “facts”, history, as well as psychological insights and science, that aid or support and empower the ruling class, the king, tend to get published. In history it will be those academics, philosophers, psychologists, whose writings make exploitation acceptable, get tenure. Ideas that aid in control are supported, this includes the editorializing of the Bible at the conference of Nicea.

There are many other ways, rather than burning books, to control knowledge. These are part of the subject called ponerology.
One example: The inspirer for the 1st America Revolution, Thomas Paine, was thoroughly demonized in the decades that followed. At one point effigies of Tom Paine were burned at the stake around the time of the Whiskey Rebellion and the war of 1812.

The PROOF of my assertion that the problem is one of ponerology, is this question:
Why are these FACTS not widely known by every man?
The answer backs up my assertion of ponerology, which is that such ideas interfere with the ability of the ruling class to manage those whom they believe they own.
