LERMANETICS or How you created your reactive mind

In 1995 I got a lot of media after posting scientology’s core secrets to the internet. Here is a link to a front page of The Washington Post’s Outlook Section that was run on Christmas Day 1994, and here a 1995 cover story from The Jurist, of the American University Law School about the story of XENU and the Space Cooties. This same material was illustrated 10 years later in cartoon form, in South Park’s major Scientology episode titled “In The Closet”

Because of that media, people would call me, thank me for what I did, and some would tell what they knew about Hubbard and Dianetics. Journalists at several big name print newspapers even chose to send me their scientology archives when they retrired decades after this.

One of those callers was outstanding. He was an elderly man, with a distinctly cultivated voice, as if he had spoken to a crowd while trying to wake those sleeping for thousands of hours.

I asked him who he was and he declined saying that “he was too old to deal with those nutballs” and did not wish to risk being involved, but he asked me if I would like to know where Hubbard got the ideas for Dianetics..

I said I would love to know, so this distinguished voice continued:

When Hubbard was in the Navy Hospital, a visiting clinician was passing out copies of his paper to the patients and asking for their opinions. It was that paper that was used for Dianetics.

I pressed him for more but he demurred, indicating that he had said enough, thanked me again for my courage and then hung up. ,

At this time I knew little about intelligence methods, and I could kick myself for not noticing the following for almost a decade:

His statement begged the question, How would he have known this? (note1)

It was long time activist, Ms. Ida Camburn who gave me the answer.

A brilliant lady who was a member of the first anti-cult group in America, The Citizens Freedom Foundation, and later The Cult Awareness Network.  Ida gave me her copy of a little book titled “Battle for the Mind” by Dr William Sargant. Dr. Sargant was the head of psychiatry in the UK during WWII. This little book described in succession several topics that I recalled encountering in only one other publication - The book Dianetics by Hubbard.

In the fine print at the beginning of his book Dr. Sargant described himself as “A Clinician”… I don’t recall encountering any other described by this word. The chaptering and index layout even had a similar look and feel as first half of Hubbard’s “Dianetics.” Some research on the internet revealed that Dr Sargant had been a visiting professor at a university not too far from Norfolk Naval Station and the Navy hospitals there.

Now I knew where Hubbard stole at least some of his ideas that he used for Dianetics, That he used the ideas of the head of Psychiatry in the UK during WWII alone would shake up and perhaps wake up true believers. Halleleujia - The ONE SHOT Deprogramming regimen! Well not quite. I have found that in order to break the trance, you have to go to the first big lie that the victim swallowed, and then get the person to begin thinking about the false assumption - to begin thinking again at the point that his thinking has been stopped. Thinking deeply about that first lie that changed life forever - That specific instant in time that  began their believing in the reactive mind..

Hubbard used the ideas of the 1944 head of psychiatry in the UK, but, only after turning them upon their head, inverting the intent and meaning as used by Dr Sargant’s book about mind control to make a compelling, and entrancing storyline, accented by lurid and grisly emotionally filled images that Hubbard, while wearing his “hypnotist hat”,  vividly drew in his victim’s minds!

“The author’s (Hubbard’s) biography for his novel Triton (1949) , says that “his leisure hours are devoted to the study and practice of hypnotism.” (Note2)

Did he do this to you? He certainly did it to me.

By inducing his readers to stop their thinking, he, to some degree, made his readers more suggestible to hypnotic suggestion. He used “shock and awe” to stop thinking. Describing in rapid succession pre-frontal lobotomies, coat hanger abortions, and electro-shock treatments. Then, while the reader had stopped thinking, he told them that they had a terrible thing, called the reactive mind.

When thinking has been stopped by any method, the doorway to your subconscious is left unguarded.

The Confusion Technique

He used several  methods to make his readers more suggestible, to make his readers more open to persuasion. One of those is called the confusion technique. Parts of Dianetics seem confusing, and difficult to understand. Remember,  he was copying the ideas of another man, a man whom he could not reveal because it would have provided evidence not only of whom he stole from but how the trick was being done, so Hubbard had to substutute from the best word that Dr Sargant likely used,  to another, in order to describe these things using different word.

This made Dianetics a bit more confusing. But this served the purpose of Hubbard inin his books, because confusion is just another method used to make a person more persuadable, more suggestible…

Confusion itself is a covert method that makes you more prone to persuasion, that makes what you are told a direct command going into your subconscious.  When you read something that does not make sense, uses uncommon words, or perhaps is just plain gibberish the mind grows desperate to grasp, desperate to understand.. even more so if you had been told beforehand that the man writing the material had authority, that the man you were reading was a smarter, more well informed man than you.  As you read the confusing  sections your mind grows more and more desperate to read something that makes sense, something, even anything that is a complete, simple thought, even a big fat lie, or a whopper. The trouble is, it is during exposure to something that is confusing, that this desperation grows in your mind to understand,  that allows the first simple idea, the first easily understood concept that you can understand, to be accepted, uncritically as true. Even if that simple statement has no basis in reality whatsoever. Even if that simple idea, once accepted into your mind as true, is capable of enslaving you to the whims of a madman for the rest of your life..

And it is that simple statement, that you were tricked out of a desperation to accept anything that made ‘sense’, that your mind seized upon as truth, forever. Out of sheer panic style, in deer in headlights style desperation, the next statement that is understood will be accepted as true!

Even if it is a lie!

Hubbard demonized psychiatrists and psychiatry, viciously, because anyone who believed his words would never dare read a book by a psychiatrist. Why would you dare? Had you read Dr William Sargant’s book, Battle for the Mind, you would both notice the plagarism and would find out how the trick was done!. It is with that same motive, that I too, have been demonized by Scientology.

The use of intense emotional content, (coat hanger abortions, pre-frontal lobotomy, electro-convusive shock treatment) - and you thought it was what he was explaining that had value to you!! No, it was just a shore story, to expose you to lurid, shocking. emotionally laden content, so thinking would stop. 

Then, having stopped thinking, Hubbard’s key lie would enter your subconscious without demand for evidence, correlation, thinking or discussion, as a fact. - As a direct suggestion into your subconscious!

The fact is, it was a bald-faced lie.

I have tried above to explain two methods from the bag of tricks described as persuasive writing.  These include  fallacious argument, hard sell methods, implication, authority suggestion, repetition, the confusion technique and then the clincher,  fear.

Like a good salesman he gave you reason to act now! This thing, this supposed reactive mind, was destroying you,  and it was the only thing that stood in your way to becoming the superman you really were!!

Persuasive writing includes covert methods to produce trance. A trance is a more suggestible state. Trance is a natural part of the human life, where it is called daydreaming, and it is what we do when we imagine. The father of weaponized hypnotism, Dr George Estabrooks, in 1943 stated “Anything said to a hypnotised subject is true for them” Does this phrase by a psychologist and hypnotist remind you of anything scientologists say? (note 3)

Dianetics was a story, a shore story invented out of whole cloth to coerce the reader into parting with his money, in order to rid himself of something he imaged was terrible but something he never really had in the first place, before he sat down to read one of Hubbard’s books.

It is something entirely fictitious, and imaginary, a fraud upon mankind that Hubbard called the Reactive Mind! (note4)

Note1: More than a decade later I learned that man to be Dr Mosel, the then retired head of the psychology department at George Washington University in D.C. who was Hubbard’s professor in 1938, after being contacted for assistance by the son of the one time president of George Washington University, Mr. Burgess Carroll.

Note3: “What is true for you is true for you”  is a phrase scientologists like to say as if it had meaning.

Note4:  That Hubbard also makes an effort to call this thing that you must get rid of at any cost by another phrase is telling… He also called the ‘reactive mind’ by the phrase ‘your bank’.. If your subconscious was operating on the idea that you had to get rid of your bank, this would make the members of  Hubbard’s sales force believe they had almost super human powers of persuasion… when what they actually had was the power of suggestion, whispering to the person from the inside of their mind, to get rid of their bank,  (account) while the scientology salesman was demanding they empty their bank account.

A note on the word “clear”. Think for a few moments why he repeated that one word, a word spelled “c l e a r” many hundreds of times… go ahead, give it a try, try thinking about why he did it.. why he used this word throughout every part, and every day, in his scam that he created to first steal your wallet, and then turn you into one of his mercenary soldiers, in his private army of thieves…to steal other people’s wallets!

The word “clear’ makes everything disappear, and all that is left is Hubbard and scientology! Hubbard in your mind. saying with authority that you must get rid of your reactive mind, that you must get rid of your bank….

And yes,  it takes considerable courage to be honest with yourself, and come to the final conclusion that all of this was just a shore story so that Hubbard could:

You will be handed a 3” thick  brown legal file. When you sit down at the desk in the little office provided,  and open the file, the right side is the docket. This lists every filing, hearing, deposition, and every judgment entered in the case. The docket index listing is almost 1” thick by itself.

On the left side you see “everything else” that was filed regarding this case. On the top of the left hand pile of “everything else” is a letter from Patrick Jost, PhD Linguistics regarding Dianetics and its relation to this case.

Dr. Jost explains in cold logical format in two pages that if Scientology claims that Dianetics is its core religious scripture, like the Bible, then the fact that Dianetics is demonstrably nothing more than a FRAUD, and because the instant case, regarding my releasing the story of XENU on the Internet in July and August of 1995 as being claimed as a copyright infringment as well as a trade secret misappropriation, then the act of bringing of this case against Mr Lerma is logically a continuation of this fraud, now seeking color of law to use The Judiciary to conceal and protect evidence of this fraud.

That Dianetics is really hypnosis was noted by the old hypnotists, who described it succinctly this way:

“The same old sofa, with new upholstery” (1)

The first official government inquiry into Scientology concluded the same thing, pointing out that Hubbard changed the names of hypnotic phenomena to hide this fact. Please read the embedded links if you doubt any of this.

Now, let us take a close look at one word that Hubbard never uses in his introductory books, one word that in fact describes Dianetics, that properly characterizes this amazing claim by Hubbard:

“The creation of dianetics is a milestone for Man comparable to his discovery of fire and superior to his inventions of the wheel and arch.” Page 5 of Dianetics

Now with the above claim in mind, read the Legal definition of the FRAUD from Black’s Law Dictionary:

Fraud: An intentional perversion of the truth for the purpose of inducing another in reliance upon it to part with some valuable thing or to surrender a legal right; a false representation of a matter of fact, whether by words ot conduct, by false or misleading allegations, or by concealment of that which should have been disclosed, which deceives and is intended to deceive another so that he shall act upon it to his legal injury; anything calculated to deceive, whether by a single act or combination, or by suppression of truth, or suggestion of what is false, whether it be by direct falsehood or innuendo, by speech or silence, word of mouth, or look or gesture; fraud comprises all acts, omissions, and concealments involving a branch of legal or equitable duty and resulting in damage to another.

That Scientology hides the core fraud behind dozens of lovely, politically correct sounding front groups with catchy names is itself a lesson - It does so for the same reason that a stage magician has a pretty girl with lovely legs.  So that the casual observer will look at her legs and not at how the trick is being done.

Scientology takes stage magic show techniques to a whole new level. The core FRAUD being cloaked by all these front groups, Narconon, WISE, Applied Scholastics, The Way to Happiness, and many more,  created to lure the unsuspecting into the learned dependence induced by authority hypnosis. It is the very fact that the use of authority suggestion creates dependence is the reason it is never used in clinical therapy!

Scientology and Dianetics, being the core fraud behind the operations of these front groups is, itself, very effectively shielded from recourse because scientology itself has  intentionally draped itself in religious trappings. Religious trappings that were crafted with intent to fool the authorities and  implemented by written policies. All this was done purely as a legal maneuver in the 1966 FDA Article and Device case which went on for several years. This  device serves several essential functions for the continued success of the fraud of scientology. After the first guilty verdict, which would have prevented scientology from using their E-meter device, that verdict was overturned on appeal due to a technicality,  Then a new trial was ordered. This time Hubbard invoked religiosity, and claimed, falsely, that this device was “A religious artifact”.

My God, this should be the definition of chutzpah!

And the FDA lawyers were confounded by the religious artifact argument.

If any book or supposed authority states that “the scientology religion, founded in 1954…” then THEY are part of the problem. In 1954 the first corporation was formed with the word church in it, NOTHING ELSE. It was not until 1969 that I saw a cross on a pedestal dragged in the front door, and then the lecture hall became “the chapel”.

Why is the E-Meter device so important?

1) The device serves a similar purpose as the hypnotist’s swinging gold watch.  In psychological jargon it is also described as an IDEOMOTOR. The concepts surrounding an ideomotor are tough to explain in simple terms and beyond this overview, requiring considerable reading and contemplation. The Wiki page for ideomotor is an excellent introduction to this additional method as used in Scientology,  to en-trance its victims to facilitate easily picking their wallets.

2) This device is analogous in function to the GSR function (Galvanic Skin Response) of a standard Lie-Detector. Neither ‘detect lies’, but both are capable of detecting, to some degree, the human body’s physiological stress response to wrongdoing.(note3)

3) The magical effect of mysterious technology. The presence of this device with dials, knobs, and electrodes that you are asked to hold in your hands implies that ‘there must be something there’, there must be something to it…(note4)
The presence of the E-meter triggers the previous covert suggestion by repetition and implication contained in the word scientology.. that it has something to do with science in the same way the emergency number 911 triggers the emotional trauma of the attack on the twin towers, which is why it was chosen to be done on that date.

The word chosen to describe this fraud, “Scientology”, contains the word “science”, implying there is science behind its use. Indeed there is, but not for the reasons you are told, which are a shore story, to direct your attention elsewhere, away from the real science of hypnotism.

4) That this device is used intentionally in a manner to collect in great detail a person’s deepest and darkest personal secrets, which, of course,  are “never divulged” - except when used to give a private investigator the targeting information to find the evidence of that person’s crimes when they need to bring pressure to bear to silence a person who has started to figure out that the whole thing is just a great big fraud to steal their money.

5) The peculiar construction of the meter movement used in this device makes it a trance detector. When a person has entered a hypnotic state, has entered trance,  this is when the session or action is normally ended and the person is then sent on a “routing form” to see a salesman who then asks the entranced person for money, A request which is difficult to say to “no” to due to prior subliminal suggestions in Dianetics that they simply must get rid of their Reactive mind or Bank.. and you keep money in your bank… You simply must get rid of it! Learning this fact caused one of the early associates of Hubbard in Pheonix in 1952 to leave the organization forever.

6) The morphine effect. When I first broached this idea back in 1997, it was dismissed and depopularized, with great vigor as “kooky stuff” by the same persons who destroyed Mr. Robert Minton. In 1997 there was not so much science as there is today. The fact is, today there is nothing to debate about the fact that electrical stimulation induces an endorphin response by the human body. The only question remaining is what exactly is the equivalent dose of morphine created by 2 hours of 100 uAmps direct current applied to the skin of the hands. It is certainly a sub-clinical dose, but it is a dose. Endorphins bind to the same receptors that morphine binds to. This was the subject of lawyers letters to Star Tabloid magazine over an article about Katie Holmes. The lawyer chose not to debate my claim above, only taking issue with Star Magazine’s characterization of it. MORE on this

“Hubbard’s followers seem generally to be unaware. The common practice of Hubbard is to change the names of hypnotic phenomena to names of his own invention, purporting thereby to change the nature and significance of such phenomena. A few paragraphs down is this gem:

“If command hypnosis is unskilfully practised, hallucinations which have been created during hypnosis persist later as reality. In scientology, “mental image pictures” experienced during an auditing session persist thereafter as reality and the preclear comes to believe that the past experiences and activities conjured up during these hallucinatory periods really took place, and so there is engendered a readiness to subscribe to the various scientology theories about past lives, the thetan and similar beliefs.”

(3)  Make sure you grasp the phrase “shore story”.   That there is stress response to wrongdoing is why Lie-Detectors are of any value at all, however there is  something further to grasp.  A large wall street firm was recruiting a new CFO, Chief Financial Officer, and a guy that applied, described that they wanted someone with a prior federal conviction!  They wanted a CFO who was willing to LIE!!  This got me thinking, as Robert Hare and others who have been researching psychopathy have noted that psychopaths have no stress response to wrong doing. If no stress response, the psychopath would fly through a lie-detector examination effortlessly! (And fly through a scientology “security check”) Thus, if you grasp “shore story”, it makes more sense if those organization  using such devices, whether lie-detectors or E-meters for  “Security” - that this itself may be a shore story!  That organizations such as scientology or the CIA, might want the psychopaths at the top! Then using security checks or lie detector examinations would accomplish this - because psychopaths have no stress response to wrongdoing! (4) Scientology filed 6″ of paper in their first ex-parte motion to fool a federal judge into granting the raid on my home. That much paper, implies “there simply must be something to it” - when in fact, in all that paper they omitted telling Judge Brinkema that the document I posted was itself a copy of an unsealed court filing from the Central Judicial District of California!  When a person walks into a scientology bookstore they see all those books by Hubbard! All those tapes! Videos! Pamphlets! All those course materials! Piles and piles of the stuff..and much of it expensive. which also implies that it has worth, all of this screams that there simply must be something to it!  Having read this page, now you know what that ‘it’ is.. and it is the one word that Hubbard does not mention in Dianetics.. the word is FRAUD.

The first use of the word scientology traces to a 1908 book titled “The New Word”, where it is used to mean fraud or scam, fake science, charlatanism.

The following words come from a publication called Pseudodoxia Epidemica, written by Sir Thomas Browne in 1646. In between paragraphs ridiculing urine therapy and astrology (both unfortunately still with us), he had this to say about “Saltimbancoes, Quacksalvers, and Charlatans”:

For their Impostures are full of cruelty, and worse than any other; deluding not only unto pecuniary defraudations, but the irreparable deceit of death.

The King’s English, on the other hand, is entirely another matter. Perhaps English was satanically contrived this way,  to prey off the idiocy of that village idiot called the subconscious, contrived in a manner useful to control the Empire’s subjects,.

Examples: Describe the King’s deer, in a manner that subconsciously discourages poaching, using the identical sound used for a loved one “dear“.  And you were never supposed to know this, perhaps this is why the word KNOW sounds identical to the command NO.

And why LIVE spelled backwards is EVIL, and why so many of us spend too much time watching programming on a tell-a-vision.

Palestine does not appear on Google Maps, having been replaced by something that we are induced hypnotically, and with repetition, to believe IS REAL.

This is called twilight language...an ancient method of implanting direct suggestions that modify behavior by induction of  belief. This is also behind the power of symbols, the power of your team colors, and your nation’s flag, and the power of the logos.

These covert hypnotic or covert suggestion ‘vectors’ become visible to students of covert hypnosis. It was deconstructing L. Ron Hubbard that pointed this method of “Twilight Language” out to me, when he called the subconscious by a new, invented term, he called it the “reactive mind”. He goes on in Dianetics to demonize this reactive mind, turning into something we had to get rid of it at any cost. 

Dianetics used dramatic, heavy, shocking, emotion inducing language (lobotomies, shock therapy, ice picks, coat hanger abortions).  to STOP the reader’s thinking.  Whatever is stated following the heavy emotion has been found to have the quality, to some degree, of a hypnotic suggestion. He then calls the reactive mind by a second phrase, THE BANK. This made his demands for money more difficult to resist, because your village idiot subconscious was telling you that also had to get rid of your bank (account).

He also called his con, scientology, which implies there is science involved, which in turn implies that it too,  is real!

IRAQI “WAR”

George Bush may have let slip the classified title of the project, when he was talking about “Shock and Awe” which was used to mesmerize (hypnotize) the American public using intense emotion, vivid scenes, of  orange e explosions in the dark of a summer night, a spectacular 4th of July fireworks show, rising over once beautiful downtown Bahgdad.. You may recall being glued to the TV news watching this. I was.  Entranced by the spectacle, you watched the fireworks, while the commentators told you what they wanted you to believe to be true, over and over again, using repetition, and everything they were saying was to some degree automatically true for you.. Weapons of  mass destruction…right….  over 250,000 human beings, with hopes and dreams like you, are now dead.

And again, those that criticized were thought stoppingly demonized as un-american, and un-patriotic. In Dianetics,  Hubbard repeats his ludicrous explanations over and over, which is called suggestion by repetition. Repetition alone is suggestion. There is also repetition by agreement, when two or more people agree that something is true, or when a crowd of people, perhaps flying monkeys are all screeching that something is true..  What you are really dealing with are just more instantly visible, and somewhat overwhelming repetitions of the same idea, by implication because of the fact of the crowd.

Hubbard also built his image of AUTHORITY  by telling of his imaginary exploits as an explorer and adventurer, and even created the LRH Comm(unications) Network to protect his image. To protect his authority.. To protect his reputation. See Authority Suggestion.   He ordered his picture portrait hung in every room, just like Jack Parson’s Agape Lodge had Alestair Crowley’s portrait in every room..  More repetition this time by implication.

Vice President Dick Cheney and The President of the United States said were were doing the right thing. All while lining their pockets with billions of dollars.. and the US Military Industrial Complex was in orgy party mode.  Suggestion by Authority! Same as Dianetics!

OBAMA’s  HYPNOID MINIONS

A recent X-Files episode ended with Mulder talking to Scully, “What is it that could induce a person to tie explosives to the their chest and then blow themselves up at a checkpoint?”. (Pause) then he says “Hypnosis and suggestion”..

The more often a person is placed into trance by an exploitive  operator, the easier it is to re-activate that trace by key words and imagery instilled by repetition.   Trance is pleasant, relatively pain free, it feels good.  Note there are people who loved Obama, and not because of his skin color. What did they love?  I believe they grew to anticipate and enjoy the pleasant, care-free, relatively pain free state of light trance that Obama’s speeches induced by design. By design, while he and Hillary and his pals were stealing everything that wasn’t nailed down..

TELL A VISION

I need to start watching TV for a bit, I don’t watch it much because of the use of covert methods of persuasion. However, I need to find some broadcast examples of covert suggestion. The other day “The View” was playing as I walked by, and from the perspective of all this material I have tried to explain to my readers, that show looked completely different to me.

They were talking about Obama, and describing some of the awful things ‘white people’ say about him. The descriptions were highly EMOTIONALLY CHARGED and the descriptions of what was said, were not just inaccurate, but were CONFUSING. Then a doctor, a PhD, an academic AUTHORITY said as a direct command statement that these criticisms were done because Obama was black!!

I’m going to try and find the episode to capture this 3 minute segment, because it illustrates the use of The Confusion Technique, combined with emotionally charged words followed by a big lie.. (REVERSE BLOCKADE)

That people disliked Obama because of his skin color... This is a BIG LIE. (see Reverse Blockade) Not one of the criticisms of my friends about Obama was about the color of his skin. Skin color is actually no more important that the color of your automobile.

IT WOULD BE IMMENSELY HELPFUL IF THIS METHOD WERE TO BE DESCRIBED by a number of people, and written for specific publics.  So that it hits home. I hope this page will encourage readers to talk about it, and explain it to others in their own words, until it was understood by everyone..

Imagine just a few people, in story telling form, describing such incidents on various TV Programs. TV Programs are good because people will connect with them, without triggering pre-programmed emotional responses (denial), associated with years being in a cult environment.

Ex-members of cults like scientology hear this all the time, but there is a problem, it is just not true!

Hypnosis is most effective upon those with superior intelligence. The old hypnotists all agreed, stating this in one form or another and concluding that this is because:

“Intelligent people can control their minds better”

Ralph Slater in his book “Hypnotism” said:

“Contrary to general belief, it has been my experience that the more intelligent the subject, the easier it is to induce hypnosis” Ralph Slater, Stage Hypnotist, played Carnegie Hall several times the winter of 1949/1950 then Dianetics appeared the next spring..

 

Page 18, Andrew Salter, “Conditioned Reflex Therapy” (c) 1949 contains a summary of prior psychologists conclusions regarding intelligence and hypnotism:

“Krasnogorski, a disciple of Pavlov, has demonstrated that in children the ease of reflex formation increases with intelligence.(22)

It is impossible to establish conditioned reflexes in congenital idiots, but in higher types of mental defectives reflexes can be conditioned, though only with difficulty and for short duration. In normally intelligent children the reflexes are easily conditioned. If intelligence is associated with ease of conditioning, we would also expect intelligence to be associated with ease of hypnotizability. And in fact there is extensive evidence that this is the case Clinicians working in the older tradition have always known that hypnotizability goes with intelligence. Lloyd has said that the better the intelligence, generally speaking, the better the subject, if he can be hypnotized at all.(23)

Tuckey also emphasizes this and speaks of the “fallacy of the contention which one sometimes hears urged against hypnotism, that it is only applicable to fools and weaklings.”(24)

It is easy to hypnotise intelligent children, almost impossible to hypnotise dull ones. These observations have been verified in the laboratory. White found that students with higher college marks were somewhat better hypnotic subjects than those with lower ones.(25)

He found that high scores on college level intelligence tests had a positive relationship with hypnotizability, and David and Husband, using the American Council of Education scholastic aptitude tests. found a similar and stronger correlation.

Hull presents a page of similar positive correlations. (27)

Hull (Clark Hull), who said “words… are assumed..to have acquired during previous history of the subject, through the process of association or conditioning, the capacity to to evoke the reactions of which they are the names, ” calls the conditioned reflex “one of the most primitive of all learning and memory processes.”(28)

In a broad sense, then, there should be no occasion for surprise that intelligence helps rather than hinders, the acquisition of hypnosis. ”

Hana Eltringham as the D/Commodore, the highest “rank” in Hubbard’s navy, now Hana Whitfield, described following Hubbard (The Commodore) down a passage of the Apollo when he paused and said

Advertisement from a 1953 Fate Magazine for “Beyond Hypnosis”

ONE METHOD of covert hypnotic suggestion is to describe, in vivid terms,  a highly emotionally charged incident. In Dianetics, just to be safe, Hubbard described several, including:  pre-frontal lobotomy, abortions using a coat hanger, and ECT electro-convulsive shock treatment.(note1)

Grisly and shocking stuff… especially for 1950, don’t you agree?

Lurid, highly emotionally charged incidents that elicit a strong emotional response in the reader or viewer, stop your thinking.

When thinking stops the door to your subconscious is  left unguarded.

Whatever is said to you just after you are shown or read about such an incident - becomes to a certain degree - a direct hypnotic command to your subconscious. Whatever you are told just after the emotionally charged instance tends to act as a direct hypnotic command.(note2)

So what does Hubbard tell you after he describes the lurid incidents?

He tells you that such incidents create things that he calls “engrams” He then tells you that you have something you did not know about previously, that he calls your “reactive mind” ” your bank” because it is filled with these engrams.

THE REACTIVE MIND!

The reactive mind! A hideous and  horrible black demonic thing. The cause of all your suffering and failures in life. He says that this reactive mind is composed of hidden memories of painful incidents in your past, and it is these incidents that keep you from attaining perfection as a human being and reaching your full potential of power, money and success in life!

He refers to this terrible thing, the reactive mind, that he implies that you simply must get rid of it at any cost, as “your bank” . He tells you that he calls it ‘the bank’ because it stores these painful and destructive memories, called engrams.

And he tells you that his invention, his creation, which he calls Dianetics, can get rid of this “reactive mind”or “bank.” and actually claims that this “discovery” can be comparable to the discovery of fire!

 “The creation of dianetics is a milestone for Man comparable to his discovery of fire and superior to his inventions of the wheel and arch.” Page 5 of Dianetics

Explanation: The father of weaponized covert hypnosis was a man named Dr George Estabrooks, who worked for the Office of Strategic Services in 1943, which later became the CIA and the Defense Intelligence Agency , or D.I.A. . George Estabrooks stated in 1943 that “Anything said to a hypnotized subject is true for them” So Hubbard uses this method and several others, but I will deal with only two in this blog post, to cause his readers to believe they have a terrible thing, a reactive mind or bank, and then he causes his readers to believe that only he has the technology to get rid of this thing!!

ANOTHER METHOD of covert hypnotic suggestion is to use repetition. In the first 94 pages, Hubbard repeats the word “CLEAR” 108 times (at which point I stopped counting). Consider if you will the effect that the word “CLEAR” as a direct hypnotic command would have upon an unsuspecting person. Ponder upon this for a bit.  You must think about this and consider it for a few moments for it to sink in..  It would make all other sources of information, your professors in school, other books you have read, other authorities, institutions and even your own common sense begin to gradually disappear!! Friends, family, and even bank accounts tend to become less real, less distinct, becoming more transparent, to have less influence on a gradient towards their disappearing completely. All the adept is left with is Hubbard’s trance!

But few feel bad at this point, after all, you now think that you will have access to the secrets of the universe, if you could only find the money to get to the top of his very expensive “bridge to total freedom”(tm)

This is the state a person reaches as they get convinced that Hubbard is the only man in the entire universe who has discovered how the mind works, and you become convinced that he alone has the secrets of getting rid of this hideous thing that holds you back, makes you have physical and emotional pains, and he can get rid of it if you do everything he tells you to do.

It is worth noting that second term he uses about the thing you must get rid of is ‘the bank’ That is the direct hypnotic suggestion that makes their salesmen able to  easily empty their victims’ bank accounts.

PS: Scientology tells you whatever they need to tell you to get another check out of you.. Understand that 99% of what Hubbard SAID was going on was just a ‘story’ that kindah made sense…especially if hypnotized…but it is all shore stories, because he could not say hat he was hypnotizing everyone…If he had simply told the truth, he would just be another hypnosis clinic for self betterment, instead, in Dianetics he says:

Edit added: Don’t let the fact that a clinical test of Hubbard’s “Engram” theory failed to find such a thing.

Understanding the concept of the ‘shore story’ is essential to understanding scientology, because engrams, the bank, all of it, is just a shore story to cover up the fact of covert hypnotic methods.

PPS: Repetitive use of any METHOD digs gullies through which thinking then tends to  flow, by habit. This applies to key words, or trigger words,  which will re-envoke the original trance state. IF your intent is to recover and help others recover fully, most quickly from the scientology mind rape, THEN it is best to avoid using  scientological lingo while discussing, writing oor even in your internal thinking dialogue.

Those that ignore this advice intentionally should be viewed as aiding and abetting a criminal conspiracy to defraud the public by slowing the recovery process.

Another bit of advice about scientology  created canyons through the mind through which bad thinking flows naturally -  Hubbard uses authoritative hypnosis. This is why he makes up all these stories about his great exploits, and why there is an entire department in scientology dedicated to protecting his reputation. This department is called “The LRH Comm Network” it makes sure his reputation is untarnished. So that what he says functions as a direct suggestion to your subconscious as something that is true.

The repeated use of authority suggestion conditions a mind to seek and accept authorities of all kinds even after leaving scientology. Those ignorant of this fact will tend to substitute other, socially acceptable, “authorities” to live by.  Some seem to worship at the altar of academia,  or of peer reviewed scientific papers. Some say “Dox or GTFO” (show me documents that support statement of get the xxxx out of here). Such a stance is evidence of the depth of the authoritative hypnosis coonditioning and of how long it takes to fill this one in. Documents are routinely forged by Scientology and by intelligence agencies, which is a good reason to give extra and careful consideration to first hand witness testimony.

Decades before I learned these recent lessons regarding covert hypnotic suggestions, I too  worshiped at the altar of supposed hard science for more than a decade. As if I had decided that because I had been fooled by Hubbard’s mastery of the METHODS of covert suggestion, I could not longer trust my own judgment. Because of scientology, and because I did not know how the trick was done, I no longer trusted myself!

Not trusting yourself is a prudent solution to not knowing how the trick is done, but only until such time that you learn the METHODS that were used upon you.

It is also helpful to remember hypnotist Ralph Slater’s quote: “Intelligent people make the best hypnotic subjects because intelligent people are able to control their own minds better.”

After grasping these methods, I now trust myself.  You can too, keep reading, and thinking. And give it some time. It takes a while to change your own thinking back to being controlled only by you, and not some madman out to make a buck running a magic show called scientology.

The scary thing is, the same methods that are used to cause people to believe in engrams, body thetans, and ultimately XENU are the methods used on 911… After showing the traumatic incident of the building collapsing over and over again they told you what happened and who did it. And there was no crime scene investigation and the evidence was buried.

Understanding how the trick is done is the KEY to end all war!, and I have no fear of ridicule because that is what I joined scientology for, I thought with the abilities I had, if I could make them even better, that I would be able to end war and misery. Well, maybe if you joined for that same reason, teaching  this material and making it go viral just might accomplish what we joined scientology to do!

Because Dr Estabrooks also stated that these methods would only continue to be effective until such time as the victim becomes familiar with the methods being used upon them!!

Note1:  Hubbard advises his dirty tricks division to always use three channels of attack when targeting an enemy of scientology. “Enemy of scientology” which Hubbard called a “Supressive Person” or “SP” is a label applied to anyone whose words or actions interferes with the continued extraction of money from the public.  The US Secret government does the same thing to anyone whose words or actions interfere with the continued extraction of money from the public for the military, industrial pharmaceutical  corporate prison and media industrial complex.  I find it interesting Hubbard tends to also use three channels of ideas, sets of lies, examples, or methods each time he wants to convince a reader to believe his words to be truth.

A Secret Method of Hypnosis used in what called Dianetics and Scientology

It is described as secret because this is not described in literature other that one of the old hypnotists, a man named LeCron, in his book Clinical Hypnosis. I no longer have this particular book available to quote so the following insight is my own wording based on the lightning bolt that struck me after learning this.

Described under a subheading that stated

“An advanced method for creating the deepest states of hypnosis” *

*(Whenever the word hypnosis is encountered, it is helpful to remember that the state being described is one in which the subject has been rendered more suggestible. That is, what is said to, or implied to the subject, at this time becomes literally TRUE for them)

Here we go:

“To create the deepest trance states, all one has to do is to cause the person to imagine something that is moving that is not really there” and then do this “repetitively a few times”

I will give you an example, if you are comfortable with trance, go ahead and imagine along with me: ( I won’t be asking for you money, though It would be helpful )

“Imagine a  yellow tennis ball slowly rolling across the table in front of you,  and then it falls off the edge, bouncing a few times and continues silently through the doorway, out of sight. In your mind’s eye, now imagine it coming to stop in the next room and being motionless on the floor.”

Adventure to do this a few times, you may find yourself in a state similar to a daydream. Now note that while doing this and immediately afterwards,  your awareness of you own physical pains and body sensations is reduced, you do not feel them as much as you did before. Each time you repeat this exercise of your imagination you feel less and less sensation in your body….

I’ll wait for you to finish repeating the above a few times…

Those who have previously experienced Hubbard’s METHODS,  will recognize that this METHOD is analogous to the shore stories told to us in both Dianetics and Scientology, especially the upper secret levels.

LeCron stated that if a person had objections or felt apprehensive about hypnosis that you need not tell the person that you are trying to hypnotize them, you can, instead “tell them a story” to give them “an excuse” to imagine something that is moving that is not really there.

Now, because the apparency of motion is relative it does not matter if the object being imagined is moving - now, pay close attention to this, this is important:

Or if the person is moving through the scene. It also does not matter whether the person is moving physically through the scene or is moving through the time of the scene!!

What is achieved are some of the deepest states of hypnosis. The deeper the state, the more suggestible the subject becomes, the more relaxed and willing to take what is stated just after this state is created to be true!

Hubbard made a big deal about “End Phenomena” and “Floating Needles” - the latter refers to the motion of their E-meter device.  The “F/N” is actually an indicator that a hypnotic state has been achieved. The evidence about that is on another page of this blog, HERE.

One can reduce the literal acceptance of suggestions received while in this state by noting the times in your past when you were tricked this way. What is considered good writing does this,  but it does this for entertainment. it is the reduction of pain and unwanted physical sensations associated with hypnosis that makes reading more pleasurable..

However, if this method is used by a master manipulator it becomes dangerous.

One man in particular,  who worked closely with Hubbard in the beginning was a black electronics whiz named Volney Matheson. He called out Hubbard in one his later writings which you may be interested in reading now. LINK

Implication: Why would anyone listen to kitchen help?

I was picketing on the side walk on Connecticut Avenue in front of $cientology’s Washington DC Hypnosis Facility. I was at the corner of Connecticut Avenue and R Streets NW. This was back around 2000. The image was taken from their own religiousfreedomwatch.org website.

For those interested in details, copy the image and zoom in… The kitchen background can be seen to have been photo-shopped into this picture, the light isnt right, and my shirt was a yellow cotton button down, not white polyester kitchen help.. This is a few steps beyond reality, and produced mainly for their own hypnotised members for which

“If it’s true for you, it’s true for you”  is their version of “truth”.

One of their operatives had been baiting me in a similar manner that BBC Reporter John Sweeney was being bull baited when he blew up at the camera. This is based on a written training routine called Reporter Training Routines. Here is an excerpt:

Anyhow after perhaps an hour of her badgering I lost my temper, but I did not lose teeth, get distorted and teleport to a restaurant kitchen.

That face is my face, with a few edits. but yes I was angry at the taunts being made on Connecticut Avenue in front of their brainwashing facility, and these were taunts that made no sense to me whatsoever - until she snapped her photo.

Scientology has extensive photo shop experience…    Even if I was made angry, and then distorted, and my face made lumpy, and a front tooth removed and transported magically into a kitchen I know not where, at least *I* still have my head. Check out THE MAN WITH NO HEAD story here.

Hubbard had no problems lying, in Dianetics he compares his fraudulent creation as being

“comparable to the discovery fire”

The only thing about Dianetics and Scientology that is comparable in magnitude to the discovery of fire, is the magnitude of the lie. Based on covert methods to cause a person to become more suggestible, it is clinical hypnotism for hire. Hubbard could NOT call it what it was… Hypnosis Clinics. He would have been regulated by the authorities. So Hubbard had no choice, he had to lie, so he did what he was good at, he told us a story about discovering a new technology of the mind. He said his new technology would raise you to your highest potential, achieving god like status and psychic powers..

And it was a hell of a good story.  But, even the old hypnotists, in  the Journal of Hypnotism, 1952, described this supposed discovery of fire as, and I quote:

“The same old sofa, with new upholstery” LINKand LINK

And the first official government inquiry into Dianetics and Scientology concluded the same:

“Many scientology techniques are in fact hypnotic techniques, and Hubbard has not changed their nature by changing their names. Hubbard seems quite capable of thinking that if he postulates that scientology techniques are different from hypnotic techniques then they are different. Whether or not Hubbard realises that the only differences are in name, his followers loyally and uncritically accept his word and believe that scientology techniques are distinctively Hubbardian and that hypnosis is something quite different and evil and to be avoided. A number of scientology witnesses, when asked what they believed hypnosis to be, answered vaguely that it was some sort of stage technique for mesmerising people by the waving of hands in front of them, or some such thing. It may, of course, be that, but it is many other things also and of its real nature Hubbard’s followers seem generally to be unaware. The common practice of Hubbard is to change the names of hypnotic phenomena to names of his own invention, purporting thereby to change the nature and significance of such phenomena. Thus, a form of unconsciousness experienced in hypnosis he has renamed variously ” anaten “, ” boil-off”, and ” dope-off ” ; hypnotic hallucinations he has called ” mental image pictures” ; and ” dissociation ” he has called ” exteriorization “”

There is no question what Dianetics and Scientology are, there is, however considerable ignorance about what hypnosis is and how it is done.

In typewritten notes by Forrest Ackerman, Hubbard’s Literary Agent, he describes watching Hubbard give a stunning performance to a meeting of the Science Fiction club in Los Angeles. During this demonstration, Hubbard caused one young man to believe he was holding cute miniature kangaroo in his hand, who then went around showing everyone his prize in his cupped hands. Another kid, was told while holding onto a stairwell banister that he was holding onto a red-hot iron railing and he could not let go. The kid was screaming in paid. This last demonstration reminds me of the condition of many scientologists. LINK (half way down the page to images)

Another apt comparison is to do a google search for “Bad Effects of Hypnosis” the results describe the thousands of horror stories of scientology.

And I recently learned that the state of Florida has a law on its books that could shut $cientology down, called The Hypnosis Law

Perhaps now “Something CAN be done about it”
